Montana Aerospace signs multi-year supply contract with Kawasaki Heavy Industries and Fuji Industries

Universal Alloy Corporation US (UAC US), a division of Montana Aerospace AG, achieved another significant milestone at the prestigious Paris Air Show. They signed a multi-year supply agreement with Japanese companies Kawasaki Heavy Industries (KHI), a Tier-1 supplier to Boeing, and Fuji Industries, a specialized trading company in the aerospace industry.

This agreement further expands and strengthens the longstanding business relationship between UAC, KHI, and Fuji, as emphasized by Michael Colt, CEO of UAC US: „We are pleased to collaborate with Kawasaki Heavy Industries and Fuji Industries. This contract underscores the partnership between our companies and is a testament to the trust in the quality of our products and the expertise of our teams.“

Under the contract, UAC US, based in Canton, among other locations, will manufacture fuselage and empennage extrusions for the wide-body aircraft Boeing 777 and Boeing 787 Dreamliner.

Kai Arndt, Co-CEO of Montana Aerospace, explains: „In the last few years, we have made significant investments in the U.S.A., Europe, and Asia to expand our capabilities and capacities in the extrusion business. We are currently in the midst of the ramp-up phase of our new presses and extrusion plants in Europe,“ and adds: „The Universal Alloy Corporation plant in Canton has the largest extrusion press in North America, where we are able to produce aerospace components in excess of 30 meters in length.“

With its Aerostructures divisions UAC and ASCO, Montana Aerospace AG has established itself as the leading one-stop-shop provider for the global aerospace industry. Across a total of 12 production sites in Europe, the United States, Canada, and Vietnam, 4,700 employees manufacture critical extruded profiles, complex assemblies, high-lift mechanisms, and cabin interior components. In addition to aluminum, they also process titanium and specialty steels.
